Paul L. Hedren of Omaha is a retired National Park Service superintendent. He is the author of multiple books, focusing on the American West. He received the 2012 Wrangler Nonfiction Book Award from the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum for his book After Custer: Loss and Transformation in Sioux Country.
