Nancy Tystad Koupal is the founding director (1997–2020) of the South Dakota Historical Society Press. She also served as director and editor-in-chief of the Pioneer Girl Project, where she spearheaded the publication of scholarly works on Wilder’s memoir, Pioneer Girl.
