The January meeting of the History and Heritage Book Club will feature the history, architecture, and identities of the state's early churches and religious communities.
Speakers are historian Elizabeth J. Almile and Dr. Brad Tennant. Almile wrote the introductory essay to South Dakota Historical Society Press book Early Churches in South Dakota: A Lasting Legacy. Tennant's latest article on the ethnic influences of early churches in the state is being published in the South Dakota History, the quarterly journal of the South Dakota State Historical Society.
