The Spring 2026 issue features an examination of the history of the South Dakota State Historical Society and its journey toward professionalization; an analysis of a set of speeches made by Governors Norbeck and Janklow and how their words helped create and “end” South Dakota’s state-owned cement plant; and the first entry in a series of America 250–themed installments of “Curator’s Corner,” which will be published throughout 2026 in celebration of the U.S. Semiquincentennial.
